Companionship - Reducing isolation & loneliness 

  • Befriending ( Remote)
  • Provides gentle, relational support over the phone for adults experiencing loneliness, anxiety, or isolation.

  • Offers a safe, non‑judgemental space for people to talk, feel heard, and build confidence at their own pace.

  • Acts as an early intervention pathway, helping people stabilise emotionally while waiting for statutory or specialist services.

  • Supports individuals who struggle to access in‑person groups by offering flexible, accessible communication from home.

  • Helps people feel connected, reassured, and less alone, reducing the risk of crisis or escalation.

  • Delivered by trained, supported volunteers who provide consistent check‑ins and trauma‑aware listening.

  • Creates a bridge into wider CMD support such as workshops, the community café, and practical guidance when needed.

  • Strengthens community resilience by offering a trusted social safety net for those who often fall between service gaps.

  • Support organising appointments / Talking through outcomes & next steps

Please note: Our outreach service has been on pause for a while as we navigated capacity pressures and a sharp rise in demand, but we’re now beginning a careful, phased reopening.

We’re taking this step by step to ensure the support we offer remains safe, sustainable, and grounded in our values.

Our first phase is the return of our remote befriending offer, creating gentle, accessible connection for those who need it most as we rebuild the wider service.
